Winter Park preps strategy to draw more development to Fairbanks Avenue | Orlando Business Journal

Winter Park wants to set the stage for more development on Fairbanks Avenue to create a “gateway” into the city.

The city last year approved extending its Community Redevelopment Agency until 2037, along with adding 142 acres in the Fairbanks Avenue area to the agency. City Commissioner Kris Cruzada said during the Jan. 31 State of the City that the expansion and extension of the CRA is expected to bring in $170 million to $200 million between 2024 and 2037.

“I think that whole area is going to look very different in the next five to 10 years,” Daryl Carter, a veteran land broker and head of Maury L. Carter & Associates, previously told OBJ.
